About LullCo

WE BUILT THE PLACE WE WISHED EXISTED.

LullCo is a working textiles design studio built around a simple idea: people should have more ways to learn useful skills, make things with their own hands, build livelihoods, and keep good materials and furniture in use. We have enough stuff, let's put it back into use.

So… What Is LullCo?

It's Hard to Describe on Paper...

LullCo is one connected working ecosystem. Education, studio access, workforce development, professional services, retail, and community all support one another. Helping to give people more ways to learn, make, work, build skills, and keep useful things in use.

Where the Name Came From

THE LULL BECAME LULLCO.

Before LullCo existed, there was a lull.

We were working 9-to-5 jobs and had reached the ceiling of what those jobs were likely to do for us. We had debt. We needed more options. And we wanted a way forward that wasn’t just about earning more money, but about doing work we cared about and creating something useful in the world.

So we used the lull between dinner and bedtime. Weekends. Evenings. The scraps of time between everything else to build a future we knew could exist for ourselves.

We learned. Practiced. Built things. Took on projects. Developed professional skills. Figured out what people would pay for. And slowly created another path.

LullCo grew out of those in-between hours. The name is a reminder that a small pocket of time can become something much bigger when you keep using it.

How We Got Here

LEARN IT → DO IT → TEACH IT → SHARE IT → BUILD THE SYSTEM.

Learn It

Teach Ourselves the Trade

Use every available hour to build practical skills and figure out what makes good work actually work.

Do It

Build a Real Working Practice

Take on client work and learn what projects cost, what clients need, and where the industry breaks down.

Teach It

Open the Door to Other People

Turn hard-won knowledge into classes, camps, project-based learning, and professional development.

Share It

Make the Studio a Resource

Add workspace, materials, clubs, events, volunteering, and room for other people to build things together.

Build the System

Make Skilled Work Easier to Sustain

Develop better pathways, tools, and business infrastructure for people who want to make useful work viable.

What Happens Here Now

ON ANY GIVEN DAY…

The studio can be a classroom, workshop, retail store, production floor, club house, volunteer hub, small-business incubator and giant experiment, sometimes all at once.

Why We’re a Business

MISSION, WITH A BUSINESS MODEL.

LullCo is a social business. It is intentionally not a non-profit.

We believe useful work can create both economic value and social value.

LullCo earns revenue by teaching, providing professional services, selling materials, offering workspace, and creating experiences people choose to pay for.

That revenue allows us to build infrastructure, create opportunities, pay people for skilled work, experiment with new programs, and keep expanding access.

SKILLS CAN SAVE MONEY.

Repairing, sewing, making and restoring give people more control over what they own and what they spend.

SKILLS CAN CREATE INCOME.

Useful trades can become freelance work, businesses, careers, and additional paths when traditional employment stops being enough.

USEFUL WORK CAN DO GOOD.

Keeping furniture and materials in use longer reduces waste while creating local economic activity.

THE MISSION ISN’T SEPARATE FROM THE BUSINESS MODEL. THE BUSINESS MODEL IS HOW WE INTEND TO MAKE THE MISSION DURABLE.
What We’re Trying to Change

WE THINK THE SYSTEM
CAN WORK BETTER.

LullCo exists because there are still too many barriers between people and useful skills, meaningful work, repairable things, and sustainable creative businesses.

01
Make Skilled Education More Accessible.

More entry points. More hands-on learning. More ways to start without committing to a traditional academic route.

02
Keep Furniture + Materials in Use Longer.

Repair, reuse and restoration should be practical, desirable, and economically possible.

03
Create More Paths Into Skilled Work.

Help people move from curiosity to confidence to paid professional practice.

04
Build Better Tools for Small Creative Businesses.

Reduce administrative drag, production time, and project costs so skilled independent work is easier to sustain.

Where We’re Going

WE’RE NOT DONE
BUILDING THIS.

The future of LullCo is about taking what works, making it easier to access, and building more infrastructure around people who want to make useful things and useful livelihoods.

01

Expand Access

More ways to learn regardless of geography, schedule, or starting point.

02

Train More Professionals

Build stronger pathways from curiosity to paid skilled work.

03

Build Better Tools

Develop digital tools that reduce administrative and production friction for skilled creative work.

04

Reuse More Stuff

Make repair, restoration, and material reuse easier and more economically viable.

05

Take the Model Further

Test what can work in other communities without losing what makes LullCo useful.

BUILD IT. TEST IT. IMPROVE IT. KEEP GOING.
What We’re Building Now

THE STORY IS
STILL HAPPENING.

New programs, milestones, partnerships, experiments, and occasionally very weird ideas. This is where we’ll keep sharing what’s changing, what we’re building, and what happens next.
